What is "Blood is Blood"?

Our founder

Blood is Blood was founded in 2015 by Jordan J Moll-Vigrass, who in 2019 started going by Jordan James and in May of 2021 launched his own Television Show as the Creator, Host, and Executive Producer of Good Deeds Buffalo.

Our mission

Blood is Blood's Mission is to encourage the FDA to seek and implement blood donation policies that are non-discriminatory towards gay, bisexual men.

In 2022,  Blood is Blood will be reviewing the current Blood donation policies to determine if LGBTQ+ are still being discriminated against.

Our history

Founded by Jordan James on October 19th, 2015, because Jordan James went to an American Red Cross to donate blood in an effort to do something good but also because he knew it could save up to 3 lives!

During the screening process, he was asked since 1977 has he had sex with another man, He answered yes because he is an openly gay man who was engaged to be married in a relationship of 4 years at the time.

When the receptionist reviewed his answers she told him that he was indefinitely banned from donating blood because he had sex with another man.

He never knew that his archaic FDA Guidance existed until then and when he got home Jordan did some more research, While we do understand that in 1983 this Guidance was an effort to stop the AIDs epidemic, but it has since been scientifically proven that HIV(aids) is not only transmitted in MSM sex and in fact transmitted through open cuts, sores, or breaks in the skin; through mucous membranes, such as those inside the anus or vagina, or through direct injection.

This has nothing to do with protecting the Blood Donations it's at this point pure discrimination.

The questionnaire they use needs to be changed, It needs to be based on an individual donor's risk, not one whole group.

And in fact, that same law states that heterosexuals with multiple partners are allowed to donate blood despite the increased risk for transmitting HIV and hepatitis.
